Born in Pärnu and based in Tallinn, SILK-IN builds sets around atmosphere, pacing and the long emotional arc, the journey rather than the quick hit. The sound sits where melodic and progressive house meet melodic techno: warm, driving and cinematic. He plays clubs, festivals, rooftops and open-air terraces, and has carried the sound to stages from Ibiza to Goa and Istanbul, and to clubs and festivals across Italy, with production an increasingly central part of the work and original releases on the way.

Music arrived later in life, and he has made good use of the time since. In under three years he has founded PCR.fm, an independent radio platform and DJ community now connecting more than 1,500 artists worldwide, built a close working relationship with the international label Oxytoxy, launched the Week Breaker radio show and rooftop series, and kept up a steady run of events, live video productions and broadcasts. He prefers to let the work speak; there is, by now, a fair amount of it.

That pace is not an accident. He came up through competitive football: the national youth setup, a championship at home, and several professional seasons in Finland's top flight, all long before the studio. Life then took him across five countries and as many languages, with a long habit of starting things and seeing them through.

Music has been the constant through all of it, which is why he takes the craft seriously and himself a little less so, plays the long game, and still finds it quietly wonderful to be doing this at all.
